Faculty Technology Institute 2015

Mark your calendars for the week of May 18 - 22 and make plans to join us as we explore and discuss how to engage with technology in teaching, research and our personal lives. I'm especially excited about our offerings in the Big Data in the LIberal Arts and the Mastering Multimedia tracks this year.

The Big Data track will be kicked off by our special guest speaker, Dr. Paul Anderson. I'm amazed by how the increasing volume of data collected as we go through our daily lives is used in research, business, marketing, education and more. The entire campus community is welcome to join us for Dr. Anderson's general session talks on Monday and Tuesday.

In Edtech, we're focusing on supporting multimedia creation this summer. We kick off this effort with the Mastering Multimedia track which provides a mix of sessions geared towards quick and easy ways to incorporate video and other media into your curriculum. We hope this will inspire you to explore projects over the summer. For those with more ambitious projects in mind, we are planning an intensive August workshop for faculty who are interested in developing larger scale digital media projects to incorprate into 2015-2016 classes.
